Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, pumpkin spice and water over medium heat.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently until the sugars are fully dissolved and the syrup begins to thicken slightly, about 8–10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Allow the syrup to cool slightly, then pour into a glass jar or bottle.
  • Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks and shake well before using.

Notes

  • This recipe makes approximately 1½ cups of syrup, or 12–24 servings depending on how much you use per drink or dish.
  • Store in a glass jar or bottle in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Shake well before each use.
  • For a smoother texture, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve before bottling.
  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less pumpkin pie spice to suit your taste.
