Ingredients

  • 8 slices frozen Texas toast garlic-flavored
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni veggies ect.
  • Optional: parsley or italian seasonings

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the Texas toast package (usually 425°F).
  • Arrange the Texas toast slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Bake the Texas toast for half the recommended cooking time (about 3-4 minutes) to lightly crisp the base.
  • Remove the toast from the oven and spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on each slice.
  • Sprinkle each slice with shredded mozzarella cheese, dividing it evenly among the slices.
  • Add pepperoni slices or your choice of toppings on top of the cheese.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Sprinkle parsley or Italian seasoning over the pizzas (if desired) and serve hot.

Notes

  • Be sure to prebake the frozen Texas toast before adding the toppings to keep it crispy.
  • Avoid using too much sauce or toppings so your pizza doesn’t get soggy and fall apart.
  • Texas toast pizza is best enjoyed right away, but you can keep the leftovers in the fridge for 1-2 days if needed and reheat them in the oven.
