Halloween Mimosa: Glasses of dry sparkling wine are dressed up for Halloween with a syringe of grenadine for a haunting twist on this classic cocktail.
This post and recipe was created for #HalloweenTreatsWeek! I was sent samples by some of the sponsor companies but as always opinions are 100% mine. This recipe is for adults 21 and older and does contain alcohol.
Mimosas are a fantastic drink for Halloween parties of all sizes from one to a hundred and everywhere in between. They’re easy to make, taste amazing, and there are very few people who will say no to a mimosa. If you’re looking for a fun spooky Halloween drink then you have come to the right place with this Halloween mimosa recipe.
How to Make a Halloween Mimosa
Making Halloween Mimosas could not be easier, there are only two ingredients! And, if you’re going to serve them in syringes, you don’t even have to mix those ingredients yourself. Just put sparkling wine in a champagne flute and set up a station where people can get their 14cc of cherry grenadine syrup already syringed.
What Kind of Sparkling Wine Should I Use?
When you’re making a cocktail with wine there are a few different wines you can pick from and while some people seem to come with the knowledge of the best one to use I’m not one of those people and I’m betting you aren’t either. That’s ok! I’ve got you covered with my top three recommendations.
1. Prosecco: A fantastically sweet and fruity wine that is also easy on the wallet. You can’t go wrong with a mimosa with prosecco.
2. Cava: A bit of a light sparkling wine that has a flavor profile that makes it great for mimosas.
3. Champagne: It is a more expensive option, but if you want your wine to stand out in your mimosas then champagne is the way to go.
Whichever sparkling wine you pick for your Halloween mimosas make sure that you pick one that is labeled dry or “brut.”
Cherry Grenadine Alternatives
Cherry Grenadine isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so you can use something else in your Halloween cocktail if you like. Pomegranate juice, cherry juice, and cranberry juice all work wonderfully. But you can also use raspberry syrup or even crème de cassis, though this will put a bit more alcohol in the drink.
Halloween Mimosa Serving Suggestions
Sure, you could serve your mimosas in a regular glass but it’s Halloween! This is the one time of year where it is socially acceptable to drink out of just about any container you want! So have some fun with it!
Turn your mimosas into a medical experiment by filling syringes and blood bags with the drink and serving them that way.
If you prefer mad science over mad medicine you can go with serving your mimosas in small beakers instead.
But if magic is more fitting for the theme of your party you can also get tiny little black cauldrons to drink out of.
How to Create Your Own Halloween Mimosa Bar for a Party
Decorate your Halloween mimosa bar is incredibly easy to do if you base it on what you’re serving drinks in. Wrap bandages around the bottles of sparkling wine and put the syrup in a syringe so guests can make their own drinks. Or serve the mimosa already mixed in a large cauldron with a few smaller cauldrons around it with dry ice. Don’t put the dry ice in the one everyone is drinking from though. That’s not really intended for human consumption.
