Ingredients
Here's a look at the simple ingredients you need to make a blueberry mimosa or a blueberry lemonade mimosa.
- Sparkling Wine: I recommend prosecco, cava, or champagne for the best flavor.
- Blueberry Juice or Blueberry Lemonade: If you want a pure blueberry flavor, go with an all-natural 100% blueberry juice such as the Lakewood or R.W. Knudsen brand. For a blueberry lemon mimosa, use a blueberry lemonade made with all natural ingredients such as the Simply Lemonade brand.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.
Variations
- Blueberry Mixer: Try using a blueberry cocktail mixer to replace some of the blueberry juice or blueberry lemonade. These tend to be concentrated so you won’t need to use too much. These are available in different flavor combinations, so feel free to get creative.
- Blueberry Lavender Mimosa: Add 1-3 drops of food grade lavender essential oil to the blueberry juice or blueberry lemonade for an infusion of lavender flavor.
- Herbs: Garnish your mimosa with fresh herbs such as mint, sage, or basil to add a hint of flavor and a pop of color.
- Mocktail: Make this blueberry lemonade mimosa alcohol-free by swapping sparkling water for the sparkling wine. This is a great idea for the mom-to-be at her baby shower!
How to Make a Blueberry Mimosa
You’ll want to be sure to chill your sparkling wine and blueberry juice or blueberry lemonade in the refrigerator a few hours before you’re ready to make your mimosas. Then grab your glassware and get started!
Step 1: Pour the juice or lemonade. Fill each champagne flute halfway with the blueberry juice or blueberry lemonade.
Step 2: Add the wine. Top each glass off with the sparkling wine and stir gently to combine.
Step 3: Garnish. I like adding a decorative touch to my mimosas to give them something extra. Feel free to garnish the mimosas with fresh blueberries or a twist of lemon, if desired.

Expert Tips
- Slowly add the sparkling wine: The faster you pour, the faster foam forms causing the potential for overflow. Therefore, it’s best not to rush when pouring the sparkling wine into the glasses.
- Choose dry or brut sparkling wine: Be sure to look for “dry,” “extra dry,” or “brut” on the label. These varieties will perfectly complement the sweetness of the juice or lemonade. Avoid sweeter varieties such as “doux,” “sec,” and “demi-sec” because these will make the finished drink too sweet.
- Use proper glassware: Mimosas should be served in either traditional stemmed champagne flutes or stemless champagne flutes.
- Store leftovers separately: Leftover sparkling wine will keep its bubbles for up to 48 hours when properly sealed and stored in the refrigerator. Store any leftover juice or lemonade in its original container in the refrigerator for the time frame indicated on the packaging.
Recipe FAQs
Feel free to multiply the recipe as needed. You can premake the mixture in a pitcher using a 50/50 ratio of sparkling wine to juice, and set it over ice alongside champagne flutes so guests can pour their own drinks. Be sure to leave out a large stirring spoon and some garnishes as well.
Mimosas should not be served with ice as ice will water them down and they will lose their flavor. Both the sparkling wine and juice or lemonade should be thoroughly chilled before serving for best results.
