Expert Tips
- For less heat: If you don’t want your hot sauce as hot, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapenos.
- For more heat: To increase the heat level, be sure to include both the seeds and membranes from the jalapenos.
- Choose ripe avocados: Ripe avocados will be dark green or almost black. They will yield slightly to pressure when gently squeezed, but should not feel hard or mushy.
- Store in the refrigerator: Store the hot sauce in tightly capped woozy bottles or airtight glass containers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Freeze in airtight freezer-safe containers for longer storage
- Stir before serving: Be sure to thoroughly stir the sauce before serving to redistribute any ingredients that may have separated during storage.
