This holiday season, don't forget to think about beverages when planning your holiday menu.
There are classics like my eggnog, pomegranate mimosa, and cranberry mojito, but I always like to offer non-alcoholic holiday mocktails to guests as well.
That is where this easy sparkling pomegranate mocktail comes in! Not only is it delicious, but it is safe for everyone to enjoy!
Add some pomegranate arils and a sprig of rosemary for the ultimate holiday finish.

Ingredients
I love the combination of these fresh and fizzy flavors:
- Pomegrate juice: The base of this mocktail is pomegranate juice. High quality, 100% juice is best. Not only is it gorgeous in color but it has many health benefits too! My favorite brand is POM.
- Orange juice: Fresh squeezed is always best! For the best flavor, pick up some navel oranges and a citrus juicer. It only takes a few seconds to squeeze your own juice at home and it really makes a difference!
- Ginger ale: Use your preferred brand, I like Schweppes for mocktails as it is super light in flavor and doesn't overpower the drink.
- Lime juice: The second citrus element in our recipe! Again, fresh squeezed is best and is worth the extra effort.
- Ice: Use purified ice if possible. You can easily find it at your local grocery store. Cubes are always best for mocktails as they melt slower and won't water down your drink.
- Optional garnishes: pomegranate arils, orange or lime wedges, and rosemary sprigs.
Pro Tip: For this mocktail, I like to start with all the ingredients chilled if possible. This helps slow down the ice melting so you have ultimate flavor with every last sip.
See the recipe card for the quantities of each ingredient.
Substitutions
If you can't find the ingredients listed above, you can make the following substitutions.
- Pomegranate Juice: if you can't find 100% pomegranate juice, you can use a cocktail in a pinch. Keep in mind a cocktail will alter the flavor and sugar level a bit and isn't ideal.
- Orange juice: Can't use freshly squeezed? Use high-quality bottled orange juice in a pinch.
- Ginger ale: Ginger ale is ideal for this cocktail, but you can also use diet ginger ale, club soda, or sparkling water.
- Lime juice: Fresh squeezed is always best but you can use bottled lime juice if you don't have limes on hand.
Equipment
There are a few things you can use to make preparation easier.
- Glasses: This is a mocktail so have fun with fancy glasses!
- Measuring cups: To get the perfect blend.
- Citrus juicer: Makes it easier for squeezing the lime and oranges.
- Stir sticks: To keep everything well mixed.
How to Make Pomegranate Mocktails
Now that you have all the ingredients and equipment ready, it's time to make the cocktail.
- Start by filling your glass with ice. I typically fill mine all the way, but you can use as much or as little as you prefer.
- Add the juices to the glass.
It doesn't matter which order you add them in since they are all going to be mixed together soon!
- Top the pomegranate and orange juice with the ginger ale.
- Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice. I tested this recipe with about a one-quarter ounce but you can really use as much as you want to adjust the flavor to your liking.
The sparkling ginger ale will really help bring all the flavors together but I like to give the pomegranate mocktail a quick stir and sometimes even serve it with a little stir stick.
- Garnish your glass with pomegranate arils, fresh citrus, and a sprig of rosemary or mint.
This pomegranate mocktail recipe tastes great on its own but the presentation with the garnishes really gives it a special touch.
Serving Pomegranate Mocktails For a Crowd
To make a large pitcher of this pomegranate mocktail, simply multiply the recipe by the number of servings you need and mix it up together in a pitcher.
The only difference between a single serving and a large pitcher is you do not want to add ice to the pitcher.
Instead, serve the pitcher surrounded by ice. This will help prevent the mocktail from getting watered down and the ingredients from separating from each other.
Expert Tips and FAQS
I hope you love serving up this pomegranate mocktail as much as I do! Remember these tips when making it:
- Use 100% pomegranate juice
- Use freshly squeezed juice if possible.
- Use purified ice if you have access to it.
- Start with chilled ingredients to minimize ice melting.
Mocktails are non-alcoholic drinks intended to replicate the presentation and complexity of cocktails, without the alcohol.
Citrus and ginger pair very well with pomegranate which is why this cocktail is so delicious!
In this recipe, ginger ale replaces the alcohol. Usually, a fizzy beverages such as ginger ale, club soda or sparkling water works great for replacing the alcohol to make non-alcoholic drinks.
Starting with cold ingredients simply helps the ice melt slower. Using room temperature ingredients will cause the ice to melt which can dilute your drink.
Serve it in something fun! Try a stemless wine glass, a margarita glass a champagne flute...or even a standard juice glass would be just fine.

Cheers to this delicious drink - so nice to have finally come across a mocktail that I enjoy and makes me feel part of the party. Great tip to start with cold ingredients - I have definitely made that mistake in the past and had many a diluted drink. This will be my go to tipple from now on - thank you!
