Ingredients
This recipe uses only two ingredients and comes together in no time! Let's take a look at what you need.

- Graham crackers: Sweet and crispy, they’re the perfect size for a hand-held treat.
- Melting chocolate: My favorite chocolate for dipping are these by Ghirardelli. Not only do they taste good but they are very easy to work with when melted. You can find them at most local grocery stores in the baking aisle or buy them on amazon.
See the recipe card further down the page for the quantities of each.
Substitutions
Here are a few easy substitutions you can use when making chocolate dipped graham crackers.
Graham crackers: I love traditional honey graham crackers, but you can definitely use chocolate, cinnamon sugar, or even gluten-free graham crackers!
Chocolate: Instead of dark chocolate, you can use milk chocolate or white chocolate.
TOP TIP: Take these up a notch for holidays and celebrations by decorating the graham crackers using colored melting chocolates in different festive colors such as blue, pink, red, green, and more!
Equipment
You’ll only need a few simple tools to create these tasty treats:
- Small bowl: For melting the chocolate.
- Spoon: To stir the chocolate.
- Fork: For dipping the graham crackers into the chocolate.
- Parchment paper: For setting up the chocolate dipped crackers.
- Baking Sheet: So you can move the dipped graham crackers more easily.
- Piping bag: If you want flawless chocolate drizzles on that second layer
How to Make Chocolate Graham Crackers
These crispy graham crackers dipped in chocolate take just a few minutes to make, so you’ll want to have all your tools and ingredients ready in your work area. Place your parchment paper or wax paper on the baking dish and set it aside.
- Melt the chocolate according to the package directions. I love these Ghirardelli melting chocolates! To melt them, you simply microwave in 15-second intervals until the chocolate is smooth. One of my favorite tips to ensure that the chocolate doesn't overheat and burn is to stir it between each round in the microwave.
- Break up the graham crackers and lay them out in your workspace.

- Now it's time to start dipping! Dip the graham crackers into the chocolate using a fork or slotted spoon.
- Then pull it out and allow the excess chocolate to drip off into the bowl.
TOP TIP: Use a utensil of sorts as using your fingers may get messy and you may leave imprints on the chocolate.

- Place the chocolate coated graham cracker on the prepared baking sheet so that the chocolate can set. Repeat with the remaining graham crackers.
- Once the first layer of chocolate has set, you can make your graham crackers extra indulgent and fancy by pouring the remaining chocolate into a piping bag and drizzling it over the graham crackers.

- The chocolate takes approximately 20 minutes to set. Once it's set, you can place them on a serving tray or package them up as gifts!

Variations
You don't have to keep things ordinary!! Here are some fun ways to jazz up this tasty treat!
- Try different flavors of chocolate! Try milk, dark, white, or even colored chocolate for a festive touch.
- Add some toppings! Sprinkles, shredded coconut, crushed nuts, pieces of candy bars, flakey sea salt, and even peppermint…the possibilities are endless!
- Dip half of the graham cracker! If you only want a lightly sweetened treat, dip just one side of the graham cracker. This is a great option if you have multiple flavors of graham cracker so that everyone can see and choose which flavor they’d like!

Storage
These treats can be stored in an airtight container or ziplock bag for about 2 weeks. Make sure to place a piece of parchment or wax paper in between layers so they do not stick together in the container.
They can be frozen for up to 2-3 months. However, there may be some condensation when bringing them back to room temperature that may affect the appearance but they will still taste delicious.
Expert Tips and FAQS
- To prevent the chocolate from seizing, make sure that no water comes into contact with it and that you do not burn the chocolate while melting it.
- Timing matters. The chocolate sets relatively quickly when making these treats. Be sure to work quickly if adding any toppings so they will “stick” to the chocolate while it is still wet.
- For gluten-free chocolate graham crackers, make sure the chocolate and other toppings you choose are also gluten-free.
It is highly recommended to use melting chocolate as it will give you a beautifully smooth and glossy consistency when dipping. However, you may use melted chocolate chips, but make sure to add a small bit of coconut oil (½ teaspoon to start) to ensure that the chocolate chip mixture melts out smoother and is thin enough in consistency to dip.
You can easily swap out regular graham crackers and melting chocolate for your favorite vegan options. Just make sure that both ingredients are labeled for your specific dietary needs.
Absolutely! The sky's the limit with how you decorate these. The two foundational ingredients in this recipe allow you to really go wild with the different kinds of chocolate and toppings you use. (I especially love to make these around the holidays and sprinkle crushed candy canes on top!)
These treats can also be made for baby showers, holiday treat bags, birthdays, potlucks, tailgates, after-school snacks…you name it!
